The Chinese, The Americans - traditional adversaries when it comes to Olympic competiton, The Russians are always competing as well, but this year there is a new entry to the elite sporting nations of the world - Japan. The Sydney 2000 medal tally shows Japan won 5 gold medals, finishing in 15th place. That is certainly respectable by any standards, but I really wonder where they have come from this year! We can talk about per capita, and ratio all we want, but right now, at this very second, Australia is on top of the Athens 2004 medal tally. Suzanne Balogh was the winner of our most recent gold medal - In the womans trap. I dont know who this woman is, but I will remember this moment whilst Australia sits at the top of the world!!! We are going to know all about her tomorrow mind you! These Olympics are going to do a lot of good for our country!!! A bit of national pride never goes astray...

Everyone is happy, everyone is smiling… it’s almost day three in the 2004 Athens Olympics, and Australia is sitting neatly in second place with 4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals. Every two years football fanatics are blessed with excelent tournament's with champion players and quality fans. 2004 is the year of the European Championships, and what a tournament it is shaping up to be. 16 teams, 368 players, and 31 games will decide who the Kings of European football are. My passion to be immersed in sport will soon be realised! I find smelly men and woman, dripping with sweat and anxiety so interesting, and all my craziest sporting dreams will be fulfilled over the next couple months – 2004 is a good year for sport.
