A day to day acount of the whacky and wonderful world of Muggaz - i tend to be having too much fun these days, and often cannot remember moments due to debauchery - its time the internet repayed my loyalty by recording my antics.
Well done!

The Chinese, The Americans - traditional adversaries when it comes to Olympic competiton, The Russians are always competing as well, but this year there is a new entry to the elite sporting nations of the world - Japan.

The Sydney 2000 medal tallyshows Japan won 5 gold medals, finishing in 15th place. That is certainly respectable by any standards, but I really wonder where they have come from this year! The Athens 2004 medal tally reports Japan in 4th position - what an acheivment for the tiny island nation!

I wonder where the Russians have gone this year? Maybe the IOC (International Olympic Committee) weren't lying when they said they have improved drug testing methods! The Russians have always been power-houses when it comes to Olympic competition in my short life - to see this sudden decline (if you can call 5th place a decline) reminds me that no matter how well you have done in past Olympics, there is always scope for the un-expected!

Whilst I tremendously respect the Japanese as a people, they have always remained an enigma - with their massive platform shoes, and way funky hair - all the while in a preceivable rigid society of conformity! I knew the Japanese worshiped the Sumo, but now they have so many worthy ahtletes in many different sports that command the same degree of success!

It's still a few days until the end of the Olympics, and I hope Japan continue on their merry winning ways! Australia is sitting in 3rd position, after glorious evenings in the Veledrome, it will be interesting who takes the World Sporting Champions Bronze medal, and I wish the Japanese the best of luck! The dual at the top between China and the USA remains very interesting - I can safely say this has been the most enjoyable Olympics in my life time!

Collectively, every single athlete who has represented their nation, have done their respective nations proud - it's great to see countries like Japan emerge on the world stage, not only world leaders in engineering, but world leaders in the field of sports, consolidating the respect they deserve as a nation of dedicated and respecful people.

I dont know what I am going to do when these Olympics are over, I have watched far more hours on the TV than I would care to admit! I will anticipate Beijing, and hope, Japan and Australia are up there alongside each other, where we belong!!!

BAM!!!

mmm how many people have been stripped of their medals though - do you think they did their nation proud? Okay they won the medal but they failed a drug test and were stripped of their medal and thier win -- wouldn't that bring more shame then to actually lose?

You make a fair point Trinz... I like to focus on the positive aspects of the Olympics!!! hehe - just because you dont like them!!!

On a whole, you can say doping only efects a small part of the Olympics, and you are right, it is a shameful experience, but as a whole, I think the Olympics are generally positive, pardon the pun

My Room mate and I were discussing a possible funding increase, 15 Gold medals is a great turn around for a 4 year initiative! I imagine Japan will do even better in 2008!

Thanks for your comment
