you can't play the victim card.
From my vantage point in life, it’s very easy for me to say this, but we are all winners. There is nothing greater than waking up in the morning, and being thankful that you are alive. I am sure we have all had mornings, where we have all dreaded the day coming, to put it bluntly, to wish we could maintain the state of semi-consciousness that is sleep, where our dreams can be reality. Forgive the philosophising, but to realise every waking moment is a dream come true is definitely a blessing.
Life is made of a sequence of coincidences. The history of the human race has not been a pretty one, and when you pay attention to detail and look back, we can only thank the heavens for this chance to be here, right now, in our respective bodies, in this moment in time, given the chance to enjoy life and whatever it may hold for us. If we look through the tumultuous times our ancestors have faced, bubonic plagues, wars, hardship, and various other epidemics, including pirates, we can count our lucky stars that they survived to give us the chance to exist. Fate and destiny can be describes as a never ending sequence of coincidences and chance.
Humans are suckers for punishment. It’s not as though we enjoy pain, though there is an omnipresent factor to our makeup and the saying has been immortalised through time – no pain, no gain. There have been times when the pain just gets too much, often resulting from an untimely coincidence – something that may be out of our control, or something we did because someone did that. It’s almost impossible to lay blame on any particular moment or incident for anything that happened. Unfortunately, we are all too willing to lay the blame on ourselves and others for circumstances that are forever out of ours; and others hands.
The glass is not half empty; the glass is not half full. The glass just is. As Humans, with our advanced brains, it is easy for us to understand the inner workings of lesser beings, and figure out the depth of space, alas; our own brains are so complex that we will never be able to figure them out for ourselves. Why is it that we can experience the highs and lows we call emotions, but we cannot always explain our reactions or reasons for feeling said emotions. The art of Psychology is the most advanced science of all, a field in which we can never plateau. It is probably safe to say that when we understand our minds, and all that entails, why we are here, and how we came to be, we will be worthy of the company of the great magician who pulled us out of the hat from nothing.
When people spend their waking hours wondering what if, and wasting time hypothesising, instead of embracing the moment, it halts mental and spiritual development. We can’t grow as people if we hold on to our past. Sometimes it’s easier to not get out of bed, to not show up, and some times it is very hard to walk away. All we can do is live. We are not victims. Marvel at the fact you have teeth, hair and skin – our bodies are walking miracles, and when you take the time to realise this, it gives you the energy to face whatever may be in store.
