A day to day acount of the whacky and wonderful world of Muggaz - i tend to be having too much fun these days, and often cannot remember moments due to debauchery - its time the internet repayed my loyalty by recording my antics.
Resigned of course!

Jim McGreevey - The Democratic Govenor of Jersey, resigned today after confessing to an aldulterous affair with another man.

The Shock, the horror!

Aside from being a crazy kook democrat, who had nothing but the well being of his constituants in mind as he was governing the state, it is obvious that someone who commits adultery, more specifically, homosexual adultery, should resign from public office... right?

This is a very tough situation for the poor man. Of Catholic persuasion, adultery is one of the ten commandments that must not be broken, and as a Govenor of a US state, he must maintain a certain semblance of respect, no matter what his political persuasion.

I wonder though, If he wasn't married, and he declared his homosexuality, would he remain in office? Could the people of New Jersey support a homosexual representative? Did he resign because of the affair? or did he resign because of his sexual leanings?

The simple fact of the matter is Homosexuality is here to stay, and there are bound to be representatives in positions of public office that are either practising homosexuals (albeit clandestinely) or they are still in the closet due to public opinion regarding friends of Dorothy. Homosexuals are just as capable as anyone else to run a state, and they should be respected as such...

Something tells me Governor McGreevey knew that respect would never be forthcoming... aldulterous affair or not.

What bugs me most isn't that he had a homosexual affair. It's that he had an affair in the first place. Do zippers not work?

Aside: I wonder how they wallpapered a smile to his wife's face when she walked out there with him, holding his hand.

- I automatically in my head shot to his defense and I was going to say it takes two to tango... and that it is as much the chicks fault as his... but then I remembered he was gay!!! hehe... You do have to feel sorry for his poor wife... being left in the dark for so long and for another guy... that's got to hurt...

That aside - affair's haven't really stopped politicians in the past...

Thanks for your comment

Yeah, look at Clinton. A real role model.

When I hear the "it takes two to tango" argument I always say "and it only takes one to stop it." Not that either party is innocent, but I do think that people's heads are not screwed on straight 'cause all the screws are in use elsewhere, so to speak.

Of course if men are really the worst offenders, then it logically follows that two men can hardly be faulted for having an affair because, after all, it's only natural for men to try to repopulate.... wait .....

[Oh shut up Anglo. It's too late for you to be thinking, let alone typing.]

[Yes'm.]

INSTEAD OF TAKING PRIDE IN BEING A FAGOT, MCGREEVEY SHOULD TOTALLY APOLOGIZE TO THE PEOPLE OF JERSEY FOR COMMITTING ALL THE FELONIES HE HAS. HE IS USING THE POOR FAGOT CRAP TO HIDE OTHER CRIMES HES DONE. SOMEBODY FORCED HIM OUT OF HIS DARK LITTLE DINGY CLOSET AND NOW HE CRYS ABOUT IT. SCUM LIKE THIS DON'T BELONG AS LEADERS.

i thought they were upset because they were being embarassed by a politician who was letting his love life distract him from lucrative potential felonies.

maybe i have nj confused with louisiana

I would love to see you in a dark alley some place Marvin... I would give you a big spanking

I heard the people of NJ didn't mind him as far as Governors go... it doesn't really matter, as far as I am concerned, it's an exception rather than the rule to be a straight shooter in any line of American government... the system stinks - being homosexual would be the least of any representatives worries...

muggaz, there seems to be more here than just the adultery or gay issue.  from what ive been able to gather he was having an affair with an israeli national whom he hired as new jersey's homeland security adviser ($110k a year) with dubious qualifications.  after the guy quit that job because the fbi wouldnt give him a security clearance, he stayed on as a 'personal adviser'.   that would have been an equally problematic situation  for a straight crooked governor.

i bet you could sell enough tickets to an event like that to pay for your trip here, followed by a cross-country post-spank tour--and have enough left over to fund the muggaz institute of poetic justice.

Kingbee... you crack me up...

Thanks for the inside info MB... I never would have found that out from Australian press... I bet Marvin would say this Govenor character was a devient merely because he was a homosexual!!! It's straight out of a scandellous hollywood movie... do movies imitate life? or does life imitate movies?

Any adulterous affair should be followed by resignation or removal from office. He who can screw behind his wife or husbands back is capaple of screwing beind the backs of those he represents as well. What happened to morals in America??

A politician does not need to have had an affair to do this. I think it was a jolly good thing that this poofter resigned, what a disgrace he was to himself and the human race.

I don't think the gay thing is as much an issue as the affair.

I feel bad for his wife though...

on Aug 15, 2004
As others have said there is more to this than his being gay. I think if it were just that then he wouldn't have resigned. He put his lover into cushy high paying jobs that he wasn't qualifed for. He wasn't even an American citizen and he was appointed to head of Homeland Security in NJ. The guy didn't even want the lovin' too much either. Rumor is that he is actually straight. It is not that he is gay. It is everything else.

I would be a very happy person if this was the case! I would hope political pressure would not force anyone to resign a position of authority just because of sexual persuasion.

This guy certainly should have resigned, after i have looked a little further into the case, it's just an interesting concept... homosexual figureheads within the governement... Canada or New Zealand, it is perceivable, but i can't see it happening in the USA any time soon...
