A day to day acount of the whacky and wonderful world of Muggaz - i tend to be having too much fun these days, and often cannot remember moments due to debauchery - its time the internet repayed my loyalty by recording my antics.
Of 'sage'

I feel so alive! Going to get a tattoo is not really something any of my friends would expect me to do... It's something I have been thinking about for a while, you know, a tattoo is not a spur of the moment dicision, as it is stuck with you for life. I needed to think of something that would have a story behind it... So i got a tattoo of the chinese characters for 'sage'

It's on my inner forarm... I was kind of expecting the worst, because that is virgin skin... I was really quite nervous, but my mate Lyndon came with me, and even though he was inadvertantly trying to talk me out of it, suggesting the pain, his presence was good. It was more of a rapid burning sensation realy... and I dont know what was going through my head as the artist - i think his name was Steve - cut into my skin. My arm didn't tense up at all, and we just basically talked crap... it was done in 20 minutes!

It means 'Sage' to remind me about the basic principles of Taoism... or, the way.

So the sage:

In dwelling holds fast to the land,
In governing holds fast to order,
In talking holds fast to truth,
In dealing holds fast to men,
In acting holds fast to opportunity,
In crafting holds fast to competence,
In feeling holds fast to the heart.

I dont know what my mum will think, so, I will sit on it for a while... I dont really know what my sisters will think either, so I might refrain from telling them until summer, when I am forced to wear short sleeve shirts! I think it's way cool though, and the fact that it means something to me, and is important to what I want to advocate, that's an added bonus!!!

I look forward to paople asking me what it means - and then I can tell them all about the way!!! Is it preaching if they ask??? hehe...

BAM!!!

I also got a tat this year of the japanese character fro vow or promise. I really like it and now I want more. Be careful, like piercings they become addictive.

Janders is right, I swore after the first I was done...4 more later, I'm coming up with new ideas for more!

I'm glad that you got something that was meaningful to you.  I've always thought that tatts should be an outward representation of inner principles and beliefs.

Send me photos of it!

Much love...

I have one but so far I have resisted getting another one. Hubby was not too keen on the idea. He said it was fine as long as I got it on the bottom of my foot but I showed him I got it on the top of my foot - lol! I got a little lizard. He is cute but it really hurt. I would have wimped out but I went with my two friends and I just thought of how much crap they would give me if I wussed out. When they did the outline it hurt so bad that I really didn't want them to color it in but they said the coloring in doesn't hurt as bad. It is a magenta, turquoise and yellow. I need to give him a name, my little lizard. but there is not deep significance. My friend was moving and we wanted to do something fun and memorable before she left. Clark just always says that the kids don't want a mom who has tatoos but they got one anyway. I did want more than one before but for right now I think one is good.

If I ever got a tatoo, it'd be on my first two fingers....a pair of pants so I could make my little person walk around.

nah, fo real do, I hate tatoos. But hey, whatever pops your bra strap.

I have a tattoo of a black widow spider on my right shoulder blade : ) I love it, and it always gets comments! It took 45 minutes, and I would definitely go back for more, but i need to decide on a new one first!
