A day to day acount of the whacky and wonderful world of Muggaz - i tend to be having too much fun these days, and often cannot remember moments due to debauchery - its time the internet repayed my loyalty by recording my antics.
It's been a while...

I don't really know why, but I couldn't draw myself to the keyboard for a long blog over Easter... I had a really weird time... my head certainly is an interesting place. The plethora of thoughts and emotions that passed from ear to ear was certainly amazing, meh - it's in the past.

The problem with not writing for so long is -

a) You will forget things
It will be really long, and not many people have the capacity to sit through my blabber.

In light of these painfully obvious facts, I will be writing two articles - always considering my audience who have a tendency to suffer from ADD and only skim through

I will start at the beginning. As soon as I got into the office last Thursday morning, Glen was revving me up for an evening of drinking. Luckily enough Thursday was relatively quiet, and we had a lot of chocolate and hot cross buns around the place. Actually as I am writing this, I am kind of hitting myself for being to slack to update over the weekend, because I can barely remember Thursday! It seems so long ago!

After work I am pretty sure my brother just came over and chilled for a bit. My Sisters bf and another friend also came over, and we played some Chess. The pub we were going to was only 5 minutes walk away from my house. During the day we were a bit indifferent towards going out, because Pubs usually close about 11.00pm on Holy Thursday, I don't know why it has changed all of the sudden, but the Glenferrie (the second pub we went to) was open 'till 3.00am, so we stayed there till closing time and got very, very drunk.

I knew I was going out drinking that night, so for dinner I had a combo kebab at the Turkish joint near my place. The food does such a good job of lining your stomach, preparing you for a hard night of quality drinking!

It was a little bit weird on Thursday actually. There were these two chicks who came with us, and they were twins and they both looked like little pixies, I think one of them had been out on a date with Glen before. Usually whenever we go to the Glenferrie, me and Glen are always wasted, dance floor, front centre, but because of these chicks, we were just sitting around tables and getting wasted, talking crap. It was very funny at one point - we went and talked to some other girls, and the two pixie chicks cracked it. They weren't keeping me interested one iota at all though, they seemed like very shallow people... meh... I probably will never see them ever again, so it's of no consequence... I just don't want to go to the Glenferrie with Glen when he brings baggage with him! its not as much fun!

I stumbled on home at about 3.30am, and just passed out on my bed. Once again truly thankful that I live in Hawthorn now!

Friday was another day of nothing. I think I made a concerted effort this weekend to do as little as physically possible, and I must claim success! I cant even remember what I did during the day. Watched a bit of random TV, but mostly chilled on the PC and played some RON with my brother and Linas. Stupid, stupid addictive life ruining game!!!! I am glad I didn't do anything that day though - because on Friday night, I had Dave Clark!!!

Dave Clark is easily one of the top 5 DJs in the whole world. Easily. Lately he has been playing some souped up electro/minimal tech, so it was hard to pick what he was going to bust on us for Friday evening.

When I first arrived, I was a little bit worried, because there were people being turned away at the door. It was at the Prince of Wales in St. Kilda - Anyone who is not from Melbourne and is here at any point in their life should really go and check St. Kilda out, it is really trendy and diverse... anywho... My name was supposed to be on the door, but it wasn't, I panicked a little, and then I just said my name was Linas, she just smiled and let me in, I was very happy, it was of no consequence though, because I would have been able to get in anyway, it just made me panic a little, because I had never got into a big event like this for free! It's not what you know, but who you know!

As my faithful readers will acknowledge, I have been having a tough time of things late! I seem to be having problem's with contraband and illicit substances, and my choice to stay away from MDMA was definitely validated on Friday night. I was a little stoned when I rocked up, but as soon as I walked in the vibe about the place was fantastic - Dave Pham was playing a fantastic rockin set. I knew for this that DC would play an awesome old school hard stylez techno set rather than the electro stuff he seems to sell on records, for this I was most appreciative. Whilst Dave Pham was playing, I found a nice posy, and said hello to all the people I knew. One great thing about the Melbourne techno community is you see the same people all the time, and they are all very friendly! So friendly in fact they like to give Muggaz Methamphetamines, and I cant really complain with that! I was given a little dabble of speed and when DC started, I was truly rockin' it!

I found myself front and centre of the dance floor next to my friend Andy Mack. Dave Clark is one of those DJ's where you must assume a position so you can watch him mix. The tricks that guy pulls on the mixer, with what looks like minimal effort is amazing. He did this amazing beat juggle at the end that had me going insane. I actually danced the whole 2 hours in my little position, going crazy. It was actually my one year anniversary of consuming illicit substances, and also my interest in Electronic music in general. It was funny, a year ago, I would have been just rockin it, wasted, loving everything - but now I am somewhat educate, and I can really appreciate the finer details of DJ'ing. Friday night for me was an affirmation that it is about the music, not just getting wasted with like minded individuals.

There is only one word that could have described my mood after the set had finished - Content. I had now seen 2 of my top 10 DJ's in a live capacity. I know Richie Hawtin is coming out in September, and he is the only one on the list of top 10 that have confirmed, but there might be a few others than come out in between - I don't know how likely that is - I imagine I will probably catch most of them in Europe, but to see them on home turf would be great.

Ben Cromack was playing after DC, but I have seen him like 15 times, so there was nothing fresh. It was 4.00am before DC finished, so it was getting pretty late. The night turned into a social occasion after that, flitting between groups and the car park for some more illicit substances and conversation with friends. There were 3 car loads worth of us, and we all really couldn't be bothered going back inside because we were all happy with what we had seen, and were happy in the company of each other! We tried to call Eoin and Pete to see what was going on down at Scubar, but because it was good Friday, and because DC was on, there wasn't really much activity at all and they closed up at 3.30am. We went to some club called Dream, probably a bad decision, as there was nothing going on there...
