When people take advantage of other people it makes me sick.
Australia, as you are all aware, or if you aren’t you should be – is an immensely proud sporting nation, and I would be so bold to state that per capita, we are the best sporting nation. Obviously local sports are taken seriously and when something happens, it is plastered all over the local Media.
Sports stars here are treated like kings, I am not saying that is right or wrong, that’s just how it is.
A few weeks ago there were rape alligations made against some rugby league players from NSW, this has brewed up an absolute hurricane of controversy, and it is apparent it won’t stop any time soon. Now AFL players are being accused.
The outcome of the original case is yet to be disclosed, however, it has inspired hundreds of articles on the issue including
this one
and also other woman to ‘come forward’ and claim they were raped as well.
Don’t get me wrong, football players are more often than not the epitome of male chauvinistic pigs, however, they aren’t stupid, and surely realise that in their positions of public scrutiny they have a responsibility to stay in line. Every now and there will be an altercation with a footballer, but we haven’t seen any rapes yet, and quite frankly, I don’t believe it happened.
Females are just suckers for punishment I suppose. Footballers literally have women throw themselves at them… merely for the fact that they are in the public eye, and footballers are paid reasonably well, not to mention their athletic bodies and status amongst society. Footballers do not NEED to rape woman. I am sure their sexual desires are being fulfilled with minimal effort at all, as far as I know, people who rape woman do so because they aren’t getting any, these footballers are getting plenty – let me assure you.
These women are making accusations that they cannot possibly prove. As long as I see girls all glammed up and acting ridiculously flirtatious around footballers, I have no reason to believe the accusations. These poor footballers have just had a good night out, and yes, they may be boisterous and taking advantage of the girls attitude towards them – although any sexual intercourse that took place would have been consensual – that I am 98% sure of.
These girls just wake up the next morning, with rather sore heads. They realise what promiscuous sluts they have been, and that there is no chance of any relationship with the star athlete, so they cry foul. They are trying to get their 15 minutes of fame at the expense of a young mans whole life.
Whether the rape was committed or not, these young men’s reputations are tarnished forever, a rape alligation is something that stays with you your whole life, and it’s not something you want if you are in the public eye – to be known as the footballer with the rapist stigma. It wouldn’t be nice.
The same thing happened in England mid last year with premier league soccer players, of course, none of them raped her, and any activities performed were consensual. The case was thrown out of court - yet those players will have to live with the accusation for life.
When will girls wake up and make something of their own lives, and not rely on their puckered lips and cleavage to get them anywhere in life? It’s getting a little better, but I still feel comfortable with cat calling and whistling, because when some of them dress the way they do, they are asking me for my attention. Females have brains as well… it’s a shame they don’t exercise the right to use them half the time.
Don’t go around asking for my respect as long as you still expect me to pay for your drink at the bar. Realise your own mistakes, and don’t bring people’s name to the mud if you don’t get what you want.
Rape is bad ok… one of the worst crimes imaginable, and if these footballers are indeed guilty, they should be severely remonstrated. If this is the case, maybe girls will think twice before they throw themselves at successful young men.

And in the meantime any young successful male athlete going out having fun with women will be generalised as a rapist...

MUGGAZ!!! There you go again, showing your ignorance. Rapists rape to hurt, to torture, to show how much they hate women, to show that they can do whatever they want. For you to think that rapists rape to get some pussy is showing how little you know about the human mind. RAPE IS A CRIME OF VIOLENCE, NOT A DESIRE FOR PUSSY.

You calling me Ignorant is the funniest thing I have ever seen on JU.
Read the article, and then read the link of my last reply. Its not about whether anyone was raped at all you f00l... its about little groupie sluts saying footballers raped them so they can get a bit of attention...
Rape is bad... I know this, but please do some research before you corrupt my blog with you bigot ways again you freak.

I just beleive a false accusation is just as bad as the crime itself.
OMG Muggaz ..I can't believe you said that.
While being falsely accused of rape is terrible ..i really don't think it comes close to the effects of being raped.
Do you???

Now if that's not the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is.

If it completely ruins the life of another to have to walk around with the symbolic red "R" on their reputation, I think it is. It is just as emotionally hurtful as the act of rape itself. To have to live your life as a falsely accused rapist, I couldn't imagine what it's like to be so scorned by society for something you didn't do.

What? Both rape and false accusations (of
any
crime) are a shitty deal, so don't get up on the soapbox and say that a man accused but not convicted of rape is going to get off scot free. The woman may be looked at as a slut, but men will still sleep with her, and she still may come out as a martyr. The man will generally be labeled as a pervert and/or sexual predator and will be looked down upon by our society. It sounds harsh, but the system is biased towards a woman in this respect.
Try living out the rest of your life as an accused rapist, knowing full well that you're innocent. Then you tell me that false accusation is a victimless crime. If raping a woman is a man's way of wielding a sense of power over a woman using his cock, then women who falesly accuse a man of rape is doing nothing but wielding a sense of power using her pussy. Sorry to have to be so crass about it, but it works both ways. And I am only speaking about the rape part itself, I am not referring to assault or other incidental happenings that would go along with a real rape.
I know I'm going to get flamed into the hole for this, but I really don't care. Rape sucks, and I don't wish it upon any woman, but this is the way I see it.

Jess... I dont think it does have the same effects no...
but froggy is right, the stigma surrounding those falsely accused is ridiculous - and it remains with them for the rest of their life! thats not the argument here though...

I never said that making a false accusation didn't hurt the man involved.
You tell me if it is the same as having a knife held to your throat ..while someone performs the worst kinds of atrocities on you ..leaving you bruised and battered and bleeding.
You make it sound like a rape victim can get up the next morning n say " damn that sucked, but i'm over it" .. NO they carry the scars for life ..the fear ...the feeling of being powerless ...the never being sure who they can trust. I dont think you can compare the two things. If things get to bad for the man he can move away and make a fresh start, no woman can leave behind the trauma it has caused her.
I NEVER said it was right to falsely accuse someone of rape BUT the effects are NOT the same.

Sorry Muggaz ..we have got off track a bit ..but it was your quote that started it
Very thought provoking article and of course it is wrong to falsely accuse people of any crime and we are forgetting the innocent victims in all this ..the footballers families.

You tell me if it is the same as having a knife held to your throat
Didn't I ask to separate any other forms of physical malice from the actual crime of rape itself? A thief on the street can hold a knife to my throat and threaten to kill me for my empty wallet. That's not the same as him raping me. Women who are raped truly are victims of a horrible crime, and they have to live with that forever, I agree.
the never being sure who they can trust
The door swings both ways on this one, sister. If a man goes through everything involved with a rape trial, just because a woman wants some false justice, how in the hell is he supposed to trust any woman thereafter in the same type of situation?
If things get to bad for the man he can move away and make a fresh start,
Now, you're making it sound as if it is so easy for a man to just make it all go away. It's a little more complicated than that my friend. Why *should* the man have to start his life all over again, just because of the foolish accusations of a spiteful woman? What if he's got to leave all he loves and cares for behind, just so he can "make a fresh start"? Is this fair from an emotional standpoint?
All I have to say is thank God I'm married and faithful, because I'm truly leery of a lot of people's hidden agendas nowadays. And this is one example of it.

If one wants an example of this relating to the United States, one has to look no further than the Kobe Bryant case.
