A day to day acount of the whacky and wonderful world of Muggaz - i tend to be having too much fun these days, and often cannot remember moments due to debauchery - its time the internet repayed my loyalty by recording my antics.
A Jedi or a Vampire?
Published on May 11, 2004 By Muggaz In Blogging
I am at the age where I need to decide… what would I rather be, a Jedi, or a Vampire?

In the realm of the super natural, the choices have boiled down to these two, and I am really having a tough time deciding where my allegiances lie. Should I make myself available for the creatures of the night to take me and make me one of their own? Or do I try and fine inner peace, and become one with the force?

Please, don’t try and tell me none of these super natural elements are possible, because you will be classed as no less than a spoil sport.

Let’s look at the pros and cons…

Jedi have fantastic amounts of power derived merely from their environment and their ability to focus energies of the earth to a concentrated level. Dark Jedi can summon great amounts of power just from emotions such as fear or passion – yes, these emotions can cloud your judgement severely, however, the raw power is still obvious for all to see.

The ability of foresight is a blessing that cannot possibly be taken lightly. I imagine if we had more Jedi in this world, faithful to the light side of the force, the international squabbles we see would be more than halved. Their ability to see occurrences from all sides and to acknowledge signs from the force is uncanny – and their diplomatic skills would be more than welcome in many situations.

Jedi aren’t merely light-sabre jockeys, the most notable feat of the light-sabre is the ability to find peace and harmony without even utilising the energy weapon.

Jedi aren’t ultimately powerful though, at the end of the day, they are susceptible to being overrun, and freak status will surely be bestowed upon those who show an ability to control the force – I think that’s what holding me back form joining the order, and becoming a Jedi consular.

I am also not so sure if I would make the best Jedi Knight in the truest sense of the word, because right and wrong is circumstantial, and clearly, what I perceive to be right, may be a whole lot of wrong to someone else – and as good as I am, I fear I would be susceptible to the Dark Side of the force as well, because I feel passion and anger just as much as the next guy, and an all powerful Jedi with bad judgement is not a desirable outcome.

Becoming a creature of the night is a prospect I feel most appealing to me. Vampires are usually associated with evil etc. however, I am positive, should I join the ranks of the unholy, I could maintain my righteous and wholesome character.

The only way I could consider becoming a Vampire is if I had the ability to become a day walker – a.k.a. Blade. He is one powerful vampire, and surely there has to be a more direct way of becoming a Vampire with that ability rather than just being born to a lady that was bitten – obviously that opportunity has passed me buy.

Vampires are pretty much immortal in this day and age, and I would be more inclined to think as much, because I wouldn’t go around making anyone powerful enough to terminate my existence mad. I would be confident enough to say, that my becoming a vampire would eliminate a lot of social problems, because the only victims to fuel my desire for blood would be criminals. Would I trust my judgement though? What happens if I need to assault an innocent being to succumb my insatiable desire for blood?

The ability to fly and have the strength of many men, whilst living in immortality is definitely a most appealing one, but I really don’t think my personality suits that of a vampire… I am leaning towards the choice of Jedi, but before I can really decide, I need the opinion of an average Joe… tell me what you think would suit me best? What would you choose? I will need some Jedi buddies, or possibly some Vampire friends…

BAM!!!

Jess... I am afraid that Jedi Vampire being the most desired option, it is of course un-availble...

Mig, i said i wanted to ask the Average Joe... surely a Vampire would say that being a vampire is better than being a Jedi? I know... tell your friend Michael to come here!!! Everyone's a winner!!!

also, answer the question you crazy woman!

oh, relax ... michael hasn't bitten anybody in ages ... he just always looks like he going to. anyway, he has promised to never bite me unless i ask him to, so i guess that's a general rule of his. you are quite safe.

i don't think he will come in here as he has a fair bit to do, you know, with all the vampire stuff and the roleplayers' anonymous site. but thanks for the offer just the same ... i may just ask him, you know. he's very interesting. ju could use a resident vampire, no ?.

as for the question, if i could be anything at all, it would be neither jedi nor vampire. i would be a founder, i think.

sorry !

I'll take Jedi... but only if I can live in the old west and ride a horse instead of a cruising around in a space ship

I would definitely take the vampire option - evil and all. Eternity is long enough to resolve any moral and ethical doubts that you might have at the beginning.

You could become a connoisseur of morality.

With eternity you could become a connoiseur of a great many things.

Being a night stalker has become much less of an inconvenience with the advent of late night shopping.

Sure you would have to spill blood, but what's a little blood between friends.

I'd pick the vampire option, only because I have a thing for Angel, and he has a soul! You could aways drink animal blood, if you was unsure, and vampires seem to be more passionate and act on emotion alot more, definately vampire .

There's just something about those Jedi's! I think the universe could use some more.

NSHE!!!

You put forward some good points! however, I think I have decided... I am going to start my Jedi training... I am well on the way...

If that doesn't go so well, I think I will offer myself to the creatures of the night...

I will let you know how it goes

As a lycanthrope, I have already made my decision. Your decision is a tough one indeed. There is always the social implication of your decision. Being immortal has its disadvantages, specially for an emotional being. You fall in love, your love grows old and dies, you don't. Over and over, through the ages. Can you stand that much heartache? If you grow calloused, that affects the quality of your eternal life. I would think you would become jaded and cynical and you would end up just wanting to go to sleep for a couple thousand years.
On the other hand, being a Jedi means you don't have love at all, being a non-emotional being. Your life can be truly fulfilling bringing good to the world. I just can't see a jedi kicking back with his buds, downing a few Michelobs, playing 5 card stud.

As a lycan, I can have emotion (although I really have to be careful when the moon is full, but that is not that tough to deal with), immortality, there's plenty of guilt-free food to eat.

Whatever decision you make, I'm sure you will bring a strong heart. I look forward to it.

There is something about being eternally damned that says you shouldn't be a vampire. I would say pick Jedi I mean you can find love you just have to become evil which vampires are already there. I personally would want to be a saiyan but that's just me...
on May 17, 2004
what exactly is a lycan???

I have decided... I will most certainly choose the path of the Jedi... although, I think it goes under a different name here on Earth... I know the balance of the force is not un-attainable by moi!

May the force be with you
