A day to day acount of the whacky and wonderful world of Muggaz - i tend to be having too much fun these days, and often cannot remember moments due to debauchery - its time the internet repayed my loyalty by recording my antics.
dont worry - it's not unilateral authority!

This is just a big shout out to all the Australian’s here at JoeUser – I think you will find there are a few of us, and generally we are well liked and somewhat respected members of our little community, not unlike our country on the International scale!!! Hehe…

First of all let me shout out to Mignuna – She hails from a much warmer part of Australia than me, and she has one of the most genuine and loving personalities I have ever encountered online. Her and I are definitely kindred spirits, and we see eye to eye on many an occasion. Whenever I post a comment or article which hints at me needing advice, she always knows what to say – All you foreign guys, if you were ever interested in an Australian chick, Mig is the down to earth wholesome beauty you have always dreamed of!!! Too bad she is married huh?

Next is my good friend Mack. Mack lives in Australia’s premier city Sydney – I only say premier for the internationals sake… Sydney will never have anything on Melbourne He is also someone who I consider a kindred spirit – yeah, he may *claim* to be polish, but he is as Aussie as a snag on the BBQ with a beer in hand. I get along famously with Macky, and I have a lot of respect for him, we are so different in so many ways, yet he understands exactly where I am coming from, and I would like to think I know what he is about as well.

Followed by the glorious Teegster! I don’t know Teegan as well as I know the former, but it certainly is reassuring to see her blogs about Australian popular culture and local figures, I don’t know, it’s not that I am home sick around here, It does feel good to see something I recognise instantly though, rather than something on Northern American pop culture in which I have no idea. Teegs is a real bubbly and friendly personality, and it is my observation that she is well liked among the JU community. She lives in Brisbane – Australia’s third largest city, I bet she is experiencing some sun right now while it is raining here in Melbourne!

Theophilus Thistler is a dude who I don’t know so well, also from Queensland, although lately I have seen his head bop up a bit more frequently. He loves the same music as me, and as he quipped, we do relate quite well on most issues, check his stuff out if you get the time!

Wreckless Eric is a newer addition to the site… He is a really funny guy! He grew up not far from where I used to live, and we have this shopping centre near by where all the hoodlums hang out – It was called Westfield Shoppingtown, and those that live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne all know this. I have affectionately termed him as a ‘Shoppo Thug’ when you need some gangster’s help – call 1800–SHOPPO! He saw the light (literally) and moved north. It’s my understanding he works in a hostel, It shows in his friendly personality

The newest edition to our elite team is Gothic Impulse, I can’t really comment too much on her yet, I just know she seems to have a kind soul, and I look forward to her input on various events and antics! I am 100% certain she is a champion, because she calls Australia home…

I don’t think I have left anyone out… I wonder how many frequent bloggers their actually are here at JU? Our little community is growing day by day, and reading over the names above, I am re-affirmed in my belief that Australian’s are the best!

As an Australian, I must thank JU to opening my eyes to the broad international community. I was never an ignorant person, I pride myself on my ability to learn and adapt, however – learning about international events and concepts from average Joe’s and Jill’s from across the world has really broadened my horizons, and helped me better understand world events.

Before November last year I was firm in my belief that ALL Americans were closed minded power hungry fools… some people here did re-affirm that belief, but I generally realised that not all Americans were this way, and the ones that are this way, I better understand where they are coming from...

I hope myself and the other Australians here are accepted within the community, and I am honest when I say, sometimes it’s a bit tough to follow what’s going on when it doesn’t directly relate to us. I am sure I am not speaking for myself here when I say I do enjoy this site immensely, and the international community is very appealing.

I hope you all acknowledge that all Australians are cool because, well… we all are

This is just step one in Australia’s plan for world domination… I hope you all realise this

I think Vincini said it best when he said:

"everyone knows that Australia is a land commoned with criminals...
criminals which are not used to being trusted,
just as I am not trusted by you
so I can clearly not choose the wine
in front of me..."

From "the battle of wits" in "The Princess Bride"

pardon us, muggaz. michael and i appear to have been separated at birth and share a brain ... but he got all the good bits .

we are referring to a movie named "the princess bride". you must watch it, mark, you'll adore it.

The Princess Bride is one of the best movies ever made!!

Anywho, I have had good experiences with most of the Australians I have met. I enjoy the accent myself. However, I would never say I like "all" of any group. I rate individuals on their own merits.

Thanks for the kind comments Muggaz.

I actually run a hostel... it involves a bit more than just working in it though

Whilst I love the nickname "Shoppo Thug"... I'm just a little too old now to live up to that title.

Aaah... ok, with the biker look etc. I guess I still give the impression of intimidation, but over the years I just got mellow, and found I actually had a heart. Haven't had to put anyone in their place in years.

I like the funnier side of life now... Life's way too short to take too seriously!

Muggaz~haven't seen the flick either. But now I will make it a point. Sounds totally cool. Just like this really cool blog of yours. I wanted to ask you this? When I was a wee tender lad of 10 or 11 y/o.... there was a very pretty soft-spoken pop singer by the name of Olivia Newton-John. She was enormously popular here in the states for many years. Went on to star in Grease with John Travolta. I keep think she was born and raised in Australia? Do you know? Really cool blog dude! Glad to know you, and all the other Aussies from your cool homeland.

Madpoet...

She certainly was born in Sydney!!! she is one of Australia's most famous exports!!! a really talented singer who has come back from breast cancer! you remember xanadu? my sisters used to watch them all the time, and run around the house singing the songs - I was subjected to some shocking renditions of 'summer loving' from Grease all the time!

P.S. Did you take a peek at my blog all about bloggers and blogging? (Try saying that 10 times really fast! .)

on May 01, 2004
Yeah dude.. I took a peek...

I didn't really have anything of value to add though - It has all been said before... I am just paying close attention to exaclty what the powers that be say though, as JU is important to me!!!

I am wondering, Olivier Newton John is old school Australian - do you know any others? The International perception of Australia has always interested me immensely!
